I like that style :) Is that considered a beveled edge? If I was to go with a new style like that then I'd have to replace all of my baseboard and casings as well (which isn't the end of the world, but certainly more work/cost). Would a contemporary style like that pair OK with my current 6-panel doors like the one below (since I don't plan to replace all of the doors for 3-5 years)?

I think the raised panel doors would be fine for a few years. Especially if you go with something like the last baseboard which has a bit of detail. If anyone asks just say you are going for “transitional” ;) Makes sense to replace baseboards and trim as you do new floors and paint if you can. Doors can be easily changed later as finances allow :)

I just realized that replacing the window and door casings could actually be quite a bit of work since I have a couple of round windows :S Also, my second storey is open to my main floor but I wasn't planning on touching the baseboard/casings on the main floor yet (since I already have hardwood there).

Maybe I'm better off simply installing a new colonial baseboard now, and then replacing it again with something more contemporary when I eventually get around to replacing the interior doors in 3-5 years? Replacing the baseboard is pretty cheap and easy relative to the casings.
