white paint help

last modified: 8 years ago

I am moving into a ranch style house and would like to paint the entire interior white with some accent walls being wallpapered. My color scheme is white black, gray and taupe with hardwood floors. Furniture will be contemporary. I am trying to do this without hiring a decorator and with todays advantages such as the internet.... i think i can do it. I planned to do all white walls in my current housre but ended up with color on walls and just white ceilings. This time I really want to do all white. My question is how do I use all white and still have depth and interest in the paint choice. As much as I love white I dont really know how to properly choose paint finish so room s are not boring. Should the ceiling, moldings and walls all be the same white? Should ceilings be flat paint, the walls satin and the moldings semi gloss? Can you recommend a great white that works in most surroundings? I love white but also know there are so many whites to choose from I near a Sherwin Williams...do you know of a great white they carry?
