I've planted a new laurel hedge.

They were pot grown and only 30cm tall single stem.

i cut them all to around 20cm to encourage branching low down.

the top 30cm of soil had good quality topsoil bought directly from a farm added.

Theyve all been planted about 2 weeks now and I can't be too sure but I think they arrived already with crinkled leaves but I think they are getting worse.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and any advice to encourage these to grow into nice hedges as fast as possible?

also they are planted along my garden border about 30cm from the fence. I understand this is not optimal but I don't really have a choice however the border is a south wall so they still get sun most of the day.
