How do I remove glue in engineered floor boards? Help please!

I have had brazillian engineered floors installed 4 times. This time I hired a family member and unfortunately the job is not great, it looks nice overall ( last pic) but when you look closely there is glue between many of the boards. It is not dust. I have used mineral spirits and tried bostik remover, and use my nails to try to get the glue out but neither really works. I can't rub the glue out from between the boards. My nails are not strong enough and I worry if I use anything else I will ruin the wood. It is also very time consuming. I wonder if a darker glue should have been used. Any advice on what to do to fix this? Thanks!

Use a adhesive remover from the manufacturer.

I don't have the heart to tell him again. it is my brother in law. I did mention it in the begining, he had gotten glue on my walls too, so he got some glue remover Bostik. It did work, it did disolve the glue on the wall, but I can't remove from between the boards. Am I supposed to use a special tool for that?

Use a plastic putty knife to dig it out.

That’s the BIL tuition tax. You just learned to not hire friends and family for anything that you care about the result, and aren’t ready to lose the friendship over getting a hack result.

Once a polyurethane based glue cures, you just bought all new flooring and a ripout and new install if you want something better looking. The only way to save this if he is an even worse hack than he looks, and he didn’t use a polyurethane glue.

After my kitchen and floor reno I learned one important lesson. Hire a pro for any job, tile, wood, backsplash, electric, plumbing. The ones who do not specialize in an area are the ones who disappoint. Hard lesson!

You could try a feather tipped paint pen to color the glue. Or maybe an epoxy grout colorant and paint brush. But that glue is not coming out.
