You could consider bigger art, a bigger light fixture, and a rug.

Regardless of not knowing what hallway this is in your home, to me it looks like there is only room to hang a piece art. And the one you have now is too small. Get a larger rectangular piece to hang there.

It is hung too high and could be larger or maybe just something with a little more color.

I agree, something with more color and definitely longer to fill up the space more effectively.

Agree with something bigger. Make sure the center of the art is no more than 60" from the floor.

I really doubt that it looks more bare. So long as it’s the appropriate size and color. I am sure it’s fine

I like it. give yourself some time to adjust. some art I put, I immediately feel it's right. It can be unexpectedly low btw, or not where one, including myself, would think it belongs, but to me it'd feel right the moment it's there.

some art, might take me couple days of getting used seeing it somewhere where it wasn't before. I kinda miss the previous emptiness of that spot..Then I get used to, and it's like it was always there.

Some, I continue to dislike which means I'll take them off/put somewhere else.

if still in doubt after giving yourself some time-then switch for taller/different piece/leave bare until you find your perfect piece

OP, is it hung 55 inches to the center of the art, not the bottom?

it seems to be a standard ceiling..as somebody who's 5.4-I'd be looking straight into the middle of this piece:) others might feel differently

Heather, in your photo it appears to be hung a bit high. I have the same question as Denita.
