Maui Buttercups is a nice smaller one, needs some sun, not really any shine.

Tortilla Chip is one you can grow in sun or part shade, a little shine maybe?

Daybreak keeps its bright color all summer, medium size in the shade, for me. Will turn very brassy gold in sun.

Zounds starts chartreuse, and turns bright gold later, med. size.

Miss Suzy is a very bright gold in spring, with red legs, just got it this year so not sure how it holds the gold.

My best this year was piedmont gold. Last year it was dancing queen. Lemontini and Maui buttercups are two nice smaller ones.

Dancing Queen is nice but considered a large hosta.

I have dancing queen on my wishlist for next year and sun power! Both are (i believe) to be large or giant.

Sea Fire and Golden Prayers are good ones.

Zounds is getting way bigger than advertised in my garden. Coast to Coast will be a monster, and World Cup gets to be at least a medium. How about King Tut? It's stayed a nice smaller size for me and is a good gold. Crossword Puzzle is pretty, too, but mine is only 3 years old. So far it's staying small, but who knows what it will do in 10 years. Chartreuse Wiggles is almost a mini, but nice and bright.

Amber Tiara is a nice small gold. August Moon and Golden Edger are oldies but goodies.

Sounds like you are not looking for crinkly rugose ones? Some of gold are that way great too. Like Aspen Gold, King Tut, Midas Touch, Banana Muffins, Tijuana brass.

Then there is container gold. Like Jessica Alba, Lipstick Blonde, Valley Lemon Squash...

This little one doesn’t get much mention, but it’s yellow for a long time in my garden.

What shape are you looking for? Curly Fries can be a real stand out in a bed. Stained Glass is a big mound of yellow with a little shine in some sun. How much sun does the bed get?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've checked them out on Hosta Library and done Google searches. Now just need to make up my mind, I said a couple, right? What does "couple" mean on hostaese? Two others that look interesting are Yellow Fever and Yellow Boa. Anyone have experience with these? But.... the only place I've seen them is at White Oak and I get no responses to emails or a message left to the mailbox for the phone number listed.

Have fun window shopping, but take the photos with a grain of salt. A lot of the really yellow ones turn green, and a few look yellower than they are. It's easy to overdo photo editing.

I forgot to mention Kabitan. It's an older small hosta, has a little variegation but is quite a bright yellow.
