Where is the plant? Inside?, Outside? Approximate region on earth..., all useful information to include. Did it have any issues with pests/insects? Where insecticides used around the new growth? How was it fertilized? Did fertilizer get on the tender, new growth? There seems to be a a mold like coating on the leaves, or is this just the picture? Could be a lot of things, so you'll need to give us more information, still, should NOT be fatal as long as future conditions are benign.

Cycas abort flushes for all kinds of reasons. A plant that good looking is not going to die just because a flush doesn't work out. There is no way to guess the reason for sure without specific info.
