Blc Nacoochee x C digbiyana or is that the pedigree of how it was bred. The reason I ask is that a friend of mine gave me an orchid many years ago that was very similar to this one... lavender frilly with yellow throat. She, and her two siblings also kept one. They all lost theirs as well as I lost mine. She has been trying to find another copy of it, the breeder is no longer around (to her knowledge) . The reason she is looking for the orchid is it was bred and named for her mother. The orchid was actually called Patricia .... this orchid was used a lot in the Palm Beach and Hobe Sound area. Sharon, for some reason the naming of orchids is more complicated than for other types of plants.

As shavedmonkey says digbyana is used in hybridising for its frilly lip. It has been used many, many times and there are numerous hybrids where it used as a parent.

There are actually five Cattleya relations named in the hybrid register named Patricia. But you would be lucky to find Blc. Patricia or the modern version of the name Rlc. Patricia for sale.

Thousands upon thousands of hybrids but no doubt an orchid nursery has something similar for sale.
