Decorating a Florida condo living room

How to decorate a living room in a

condo in Florida that is 17.5 feet wide on the water side and 14 feet on the other side. Think I need to create a square shaped living area within the space to avoid having furniture hugging the walls.

Would like either 2 small apartment size couches facing each other or in an L shape but I am looking for ideas. Would like two matching chairs also.

To the right of the love seat there is a plant. To right of plant is hallway. The opening starts where the lamp shade is to the left of the couch on the right.

The couch on the right hand side is resting against a wall which has an opening cut out ( to the right of the right hand side of the couch) where I could place bar stools.

I am thinking about creating a gallery wall where the picture currently is by mounting a large TV with floating shelves and pictures around it. Will be removing the carpet and getting rid of all furniture.

I moved your TV, removed the curtains and valance, and opened up the fabulous view. It's a start.

I would get a long, low console and mount the TV above it. No shelves, which are trendy but don't really add anything positive. Just put your pictures above and around the TV and that will look great. I'm sure you can find examples on the internet.

Your present furniture actually looks nice, not worn or dated. With a wood floor and a gorgeous rug you may not need to change it, unless you feel it's necessary. As mentioned, pictures of the whole room would be a great idea.

Start by moving the TV to the wall where the loveseat is now. Keep couch where you have it, two chairs facing the TV, nothing under the window unless maybe a bench.

If you want more help, like with a gallery wall, you need to give use a photo from each corner of the space.

The other thing that will help us help you is for you to save some photos in your ideabook so we can get an idea of what style you like.

Post pictures of the other 2 walls. I'm assuming this is the staged RE picture. I agree with Ingrid that the TV needs to be on the wall where the loveseat is now. Console needs to be at least 25% wider than the TV. Do not hang pictures around it, that is just visual clutter. A sofa in front of the windows and a sofa facing TV may work but with the measurements it's difficult to help you.

I would make the wall where you now have the art and love seat the TV wall with a console below it. I would put the couch facing it in the center of the room and leave the two chairs in front of the window. It looks like it's a small space so I would just hang a very large piece of art across from the window on the wall where the couch is now.
