Tuesday's Selections

Another extremely hot day here. At least there is a breeze.

Orange Blossom Trail came through the winter in pretty good shape.

Bob likes Butter Cream but I am not much of a fan.

The early blooms on Lava Flow were splotchy, but now it's looking better.

I got my shadow in this picture of Love All Serve All.

Serenade of Springtime is one of my favorite small daylilies.

Blue Flirt is a miniature that doesn't really like our climate much.

I'll put the seedling queen in the comments.

I, of course, like that last seedling really well being a RFK fan. Your second red and white seedling is a beauty with that edge. Lava Flow is a magnificent color as usual, and I'm with bob, I like butter and Cream. Orange Blossom train is lovely.

Love all the seedling pictures from today! I can see why you were unable to pick just a queen. Serenade of Springtime is lovely as well, beautiful color.

I've not seen Lava Flow with that coloring and how striking it is. Nice. Your getting some nice kids from RFK cross. I have a couple with it too and they always seem to do well.

I love both of the red eyed/edged seedlings out of your Empire of Dawn and Dusk X Ruby Lipstick seedling. The first one appeals me more, probably because of its well behaved sepals. Tom Adams X Purple Peek-a-boo is amazing!

I'm with Bob on Butter Cream but I am a yellow fan. Seedlings make a fine royal court; hopefully some can increase their royal status as many of them look outstanding. Great job on these!

A really stunning group today, I think I like all of your seedlings better than the named. That last one is absolutely use dropping. I hope those all do well for you.

Great results, Nancy, love the seedlings. My favorite, hands down is Trip,e CherriesX Ruby Lipstick. I also like your Tom Adams cross.

I like the second seedling, also - wow - a double out of two singles. I am going to have to repeat that cross. I will probably get muddy nothings. :-)

Butter Cream is especially nice here this year. I am always interested in your crosses involving cream/white and red edge.

    Wow, what beautiful seedlings.

I really like Tom Adams X Purple Peek-a-boo the most of all these great flowers.

Dick, Triple Cherries will give doubles on occasion. We have gotten 4 out of Triple Cherries. One of our first introductions has Triple Cherries as a pod parent. This is Krakatoa Katie.

Krakatoa Katie is gorgeous! What else have you introduced?

Thanks, Debra. We weren't breeding for doubles and were surprised when Krakatoa Katie turned up in the seedling bed.

We introduced two more this year.

Sonoran Desert Rose is a late blooming variety.

I remember seeing Sonoran Desert Rose in past years as a seedling. I'm sure I probably saw the other won two. They both have wonderful edges. Do you have a website for sales, or are you mainly selling them on the Lily Auction? I'm not a doubles person, but your double is really outstanding!

Debra, right now we are still working on the website, so we are just selling through the Lily Auction. I usually list my auctions in the spring and then am done for the year although we may be listing some this fall for spring shipment. I hope to get all our ducks in a row by this fall so we can get the website up and rolling . If you are on Facebook, we do have a page for the garden. Our name is Cherry Hill Garden.

Nancy - Could you either list your Lily Auction username here, or message me with it? My Lily Auction name is lilipod. Most years I post a few in both fall and spring. Although I've actually been doing better selling with the free classifieds on NGA with no fees. I'll take a look at your Facebook page. I like the name Cherry Hill Garden.
