tile in bathroom

I'm redoing my bathroom with white carrara marble. I'm installing a walk-in shower and tiling to the ceiling. I'm putting in white vanities with a marble top. Three questions 1. would you suggest a grey marble floor or to continue the same white Carrara that's on the walls in the shower on my bathroom floor. 2. I'm seeing a lot of information about tiling the bathroom walls up to the tile bar. is it more Trend to just leave it plain walls or to tile it up to the towel bar. I was reading not to just tile behind the sink and the toilet, if you do that to the whole bathroom it doesn't look finished, which would be more popular or more trending. 3 I really love the look of shiny brass and not the usual Chrome with all the white carrara marble. What is your opinion on these three questions please

I used faux porcelain marble tiles in my shower, marble is porous and prone to etching with acidic product, and a faux cross cut grey travertine in my bathroom. I wanted the room to look more like a 1920s dressing room (originally they abutted master bedrooms instead of on suites) so I wanted no tile on walls. I prefer all walls, other than shower, to be the same so I would do no tiled walls at all or all three non shower walls tiled to chair rail height.

Oh, I love real brass with marble but I like when it naturally patinas and than you can polish it back to shine, not coated.

If you install a towel bar or towel ring on drywall, water is bound to drip down the wall when someone grabs the towel to dry their hands.

so you are suggesting to tile the wall at least up to the bottom of the towel holder

    Yes

    Towel Ring Installation

The towel ring must be installed between 50 inches and 52 inches height, measured from the finish floor. If you are measuring it from the vanity then it shall be hung 20-22 inches above it. Generally, the absolute minimum height is 36" for towels, 18" for washcloths measured from the vanity countertop.

The towel rail height installation will vary depending on the type and use of the bathroom. The rail will not be installed at the same height when the bathroom will be used by children. A towel rail shall be installed 48 inches above the floor. You want to check also the location of electrical outlets and decorative tile work.

When installing multiple towel rails, measure the one that will be highest, and then fold a towel at that level. Mark 2 inches below the area where the towel bottom and that should be the place to install the second rail.
