As a side thought Lisa, you could go on weather.com and put in your town and check the monthly stats. It will list how much rain has fallen so far this month.

@ Joe, all they said was we are 7 inches above average this spring for Rainfall, which is A lot! and this upcoming weekend more Rain all weekend, Thank god my liquid fungicide is coming today, next week dry and 80's perfect weather finally, how's it going in your neck of the woods??

I agree with lawniac. I use tuna cans that are the commercial ones, so they are about 4" high. My knuckles are about 1" long each, so I do the finger test and measure 1 knuckle, 2 knuckles, 1 inch, 2 inches. Maybe I'll get a rain gauge some day but then again I don't want something sitting out in an open place all the time. I can just drop a tuna can on the front walkway before a rain and get a good reading.

Just make sure that any can you use has straight sides and bottom or else your reading won't be accurate.
