I've decided to carpet the upstairs bedroom and hallway (That was a dilemma in itself - but floorboards will be too noisy, so I'll just have floorboards on stairs and downstairs).

I've picked carpets - one charcoal, and one a lighter grey. The walls are grey and trimmings a very light grey (almost white).

We've picked a very stain resistant carpet - so I'm not driven by that - either colour will be ok with the stains. I'm wondering how much work are darker carpets? Ive read a lot about darker carpets need a lot more vacuuming.. does anyone have charcoal carpets or light carpets? What you like/dislike about them?
