I'm rebuilding my home after a hurricane/flood.

Yes, I've learned some things. Don't store anything under beds (kids' legos and out of season clothes) and reduce possessions. Reduction accomplished, courtesy of the flood.

I had a client show me a picture of the house I designed for them in Illinois at the point when the interior walls were being painted; it was a picture of the foundation filled with smoldering ashes. The house burnt down before they could totally move in. Fortunately they were able to rebuild it and make minor changes they wanted to make that they discovered during the first build.
