Keep it covered. Any table that you use regularly is eventually going to get scratches and dings in it. Agree with Sammy.

I dry dust mine weekly, or sometimes a barely damp microfiber cloth. Occasionally, like once every couple of years, I apply furniture wax to it. I use a pad and tablecloth when we use it on holidays. It’s uncovered the rest of the time, two adults in the house, used infrequently with placemats.

I read this advice eons ago in a women's magazine. Wet your hands. Shake off any excess water, and then dry your hands on the clean dust cloth. Then use that cloth and dust away. No build up, no odors, no expense.

Put a good coat of a hard paste wax on it....and never use spray cleaners, spray was, Murphy's oil soap....or heaven forbid Orange oil cleaner!
When you have a good past wax, dry dusting is all you need or perhaps a little water for something sugary.
