Is it getting any natural light?

so you took it out of the pot and repotted again into different soil?

in the current pic, the soil looks very peat heavy and wet.

I think the roots started to rot when you repotted. Putting it back in its original pot was recommended, but since you repotted into another heavy soil, it’s probsbly rotting again, unfortunately.

im not sure if there’s much hope. I’d personally remove all soil from the roots, prune rotted roots and put it in a mix of 70% perlite with 30% soil into a pot just barely big enough to fit the roots.

Put in a bright window and hope for the best.

Okay, so as a point of reference, Chamaerops are native to Spain and Morocco. It loves extreme heat, bright sun all day, and drought interspersed with a good infrequent drench. I agree 100% with Dave's advice concerning the soil. A mix that is mostly perlite will help, assuming you can get it into a sunny location asap. I see new growth waiting to unfurl so all isn't lost. It just needs a LOT of bright light and a much drier mix.

I’ll also add, if you do end up doing this, don’t keep the roots out of soil for too long. Keep them misted with water if you need to take your time.

any roots that have a bad smell or are mushy are rotting and should be trimmed all the way back to before the rot.
