Is this a Blue Angel?

Got it as a gift from the in laws but unfortunately they forgot what it is. I don’t think it’s blue enough to be one.

im thinking .. BA was extremely variable back in the day .. i dont know if they ever evened out the plants in the trade ... as such.. its very hard to ID this particular plant ...

blue coloration is always variable .... up north plants.. tend to be bluer than down south plants .. as the blue is a wax and heat can affect it ... where are you ??? ...

also .... it can be hard to ID giant plants.. when they are not mature .. if in fact this is BA.. it might be 3 or 4 feet too close to the house ... i have seen them over 6 feet across ....

it sure looks like there is a green plant in the middle ... that confuses me ...

all that said.. did the in laws buy a new plant for you.. or just cut a chunk off a plant they had in their yard ....

whatever it is.. it looks like its going to be a great plant.. in a few more years ..

It is a handsome plant - whatever it is. It looks like it starts green on new growth and then changes to blue as the wax builds up. I have younger blue hostas that do this and I think it looks really cool.
