LOL. We all "need" a new hosta.

Seriously, though, it does look great. Those look like young hostas. Bet that bed is nice and full in a few years.

Some are quite young, a couple are recent transplants and were set back a bit, some are just slow-growing lol. Any ideas for a hosta for that spot? I love suggestions! : )

It might be too much repetition, but My Friend Nancy has always been a favorite of mine. She's bluegreen with a cream edge, like a lot of the other hostas in your bed, and she'll fill up a lot of space. If you've seen Sleeping Beauty, same colors but a lot bigger.

Wish I could post a picture, but mine is right behind a fence, so it never gets photographed. If it cools off a bit, I'll get a shot, fence and all.

They're looking good! Since you asked, I'd say you need one with a white or yellow middle. Night Before Christmas or Ann Kulpa come to mind but there are plenty of others. ....But the consistency of the thin margins also looks good. Hard to go wrong when adding hostas.

Like your placement. Yellow Hosta in the middle immediately brings eye to it. We did not have hail but we are having very hot weather. Few new plants I got are having hard time...

you have a lot of white edged plants in that bed.. i would avoid another ...

i might think another largish yellow of some sort.. and move out the yellow in the bottom right corner of the first pic ...

whats that tall thing in mid pic.. looks like a weed ... which might be defined as any plant that is not a hosta.. lol ...

Yeah, lots of white edged in this bed, Ken. Too many, really. Tall thing is an Asiatic lily, should be blooming in a few days. That yellow in the bottom right, Mister Watson, needs to be lifted, anyway, as it has sunk since I planted it. I'm liking the suggestion of a big yellow. Thanks.

I'm happy that the hail missed that nice collection. In the opening, I would plant a tall upright hosta like 'Tenryu' or 'Krossa Regal'.

I like that, all the others in the back are tall uprights (Silk Kimono, Regal Splendor and Blue Hawaii.) Maybe a Dancing Queen would look good back there...hmmm...so many choices...

How about an upright gold? Except for it being internally slow, Krugerrand is lovely. I'd suggest Sun Power or Golden Sculpture, but you probably already have both. I think Crossword Puzzle is going to be nice, but I haven't had it long enough to recommend it. It seems to be tasty, too. The bugs won't leave it alone. You'd think a big corrugated gold would be too tough to eat.

MadPlanter, golds/yellows are lacking in my garden. I have neither Sun Power nor Golden Sculpture. Both are great ideas.

I favor the blues.Glad you missed the hail Don.The garden is looking good. How about good ole Elegans or Blue Angel or Paul's Glory grows like a weed for me.

Even though it's wrong for the bed, here's My Friend Nancy. She's the big one in the middle.

City Lights is a excellent large yellow, will go 6 feet across and is a good grower. Yosemite Valley is another very nice large yellow, new to my garden, but should be spectacular. City Lights has a slightly rounder leaf with lots of light corrugation, Yosemite Valley a longer leaf with a much smoother finish and deeply impressed veins. If you want a very nice solid blue, Viking Ship is very impressive, although not a particularly fast grower.
