The only sure way to eliminate any grass from a flower bed is to dig it out roots and all. Spraying with a grass killer does not kill all of the root as many people that have used glyphosate have found when the grass returns before the growing season has ended.

As the first reply mentioned, you. An try a product like Ortho “Grass-B-Gone”. It is a commercial herbicide that kills only grasses. I have had good luck with it but it is slow to kill Bermuda grass (that stuff is tough). It can take up to a couple of weeks to kill it but it will kill the plant, roots and all. It kills weaker grasses much more quickly. I have used it with success. I don’t like using these types of products too often but I do when it’s necessary. I also pull or dig up Bermuda grass whenever I see it. It spreads ferociously from rhizomes and is a nightmare to keep control.

I have the same problem. I spent yesterday digging out most of the Bermuda. Grass B Gone also works pretty well - I use it in an area that is densely planted. It normally takes two applications to knock out the Bermuda, but it does work.

Is it okay to use the Grass B Gone this time of year? And it will definitely get on the flowers. It won't kill them?

No it won’t kill most ornamentals flowers, but if you have ornamental grasses you need to be careful as it will kill them. You can check the label for a detailed list of things that it will and will not harm.

That grassy looking stuff isn't Bermuda.

Why don't you try pulling and digging it out before you resort to using chelicals.You have all those nice flowers mixed in with it, I doubt you could pull off a spray job without damaging some of them. You could have probably pulled out a third of that grass in the time it took to post your query.
