It doesn't look like Cherokee Purple which is a black tomato and should be showing black at this stage. From your photo, I'd say it is a pink tomato. I would wait until it was completely pink, and slightly soft when gently squeezed.

Agree with Linda. If you are worried about a critter getting it before you, no harm in picking it, and putting it on the counter for a couple of days.

I’m not sure now the tag said Cherokee Purple? I did slice it up and eat it and it was definitely ripe not many seeds about 90% meat inside. And like nothing I ever had! It was sweet and no acidity well Not compared to a beefsteak. So I don’t know wat it was. Must be a bad tag? I also got Germans and Rutgers I know they can’t cross unless the flower is dissected.

That’s about what they looked like besides the color, there’s definitely suckers on the trusses I never saw that before on a tomato plant, I just ate another that was green on top and almost a maroon red on the bottom with green streaks. It came off the same plant.

Maroon? Sounds about right.
