Begin by changing the wall's colour ,your furniture will look good with this , the headboard could be changed if you can.

Thanks for comments London Staging, would you please tell me hat are the conflicting styles and what is wrong with the bedding? Bedding and headboard are both new and I love both. I’m going for a modern look so I’d like to work with what I have. Although changing the furniture is a probability at some point. Thanks again

OK you love the bedding! Great start. I would paint out the wood furniture pieces to black and add crystal or SS knobs....remove all the ornamental iron from the mirror, then hang the mirror over the dresser on the wall. Replace the window blinds with bamboo roman shades in a medium wood tone. Paint the walls a fresh clean white.....add pen and ink art work framed in a neutral color. Add these cool Pottery Barn wall sconces over the bed....they have a casual vibe but so does your striped bedding. Find modern night tables in white or black to go under the PB scones.

BTW, the headboard is not black. Official color is graphite. More of a dark gray that looks blue in certain light. I’d like to bring out the blue. Thx

You picked out the bedspread because it appeals to you, (I like it too). If I was to describe it I would call it coastal, which works fine with the lighter wood tones of the dressers. The room needs two things to my mind, some brightening and some softness as the stripes lean towards masculine. Some long white right to the floor drapes will add both. White or slightly off white decor pieces (vases, etc) on the various surfaces will tie it in along with a small rug that ties in to the bedding colors or a natural fibre like jute. If you can steal a chair and small table for a reading nook by the windows it would be lovely.

I like your bed , it's the color of the wall that is too muddy ..paint your walls a warm white , then make a little seating area in your window alcove ...with storage underneath and if you like shudders put shudders ..but why not lovely drapes ..held back on either side for total shade ...the furniture is very large ..but , if you paint it black with metal knobs ...it will not appear as large and make the room more to your style ...for the bed ...maybe you don't need to replace all your furniture ...perhaps just one piece you can put in another room and add a very large mirror instead ..! Start with changing the wall color ..then take another look ...it's a nice bedroom ...!!! Slowly does it , live with it then decide ...in using that lov key window area for seating ..reading ..gazing out ...

I love your bedding too! I think you can keep the light wood pieces, but I would remove the mirror from the dresser. Choose a round one to hang on the wall that has organic elements, like carved wood or woven wicker. I would definitely rid the room of the too small mirrored bed stands as soon as possible. I think the accent lamps on the dresser would look great flanking the bed, if they emit enough light.
