FWIW, Dawn's Early Light comes up bright yellow in spring. It does get greener, but mine never gets as green as the one shown. Maybe because it gets some direct sun. I really like the photo of Rich Uncle.

Wow, I didn’t even recognize Dawns Early Light in that photo! Mine has never looked like that.

That place is fantastic! So many hostas and they are so big! I hope I find a place like that one day.

I especially love Lakeside Hazy Morn. My own CFRV looks like it has a long way to go before it resembles the one you saw. I purchased One Last Dance recently. You picture of it makes me happy I did!

Wow, that place looks amazing! Great looking Hosta and great photographs of them. I also picked up a chunk of L. Full Tide last weekend - nice looking chunk you got there. It was on my list to visit this year on our way to see our daughter outside Chicago (we ended up seeing her in Amsterdam, so that trip was put on hold). Thanks for the tour. Now I just need to find another excuse to drive by.

I think I need to go there! It would be great to see hostas planted in shade and see what the good performers are. I have only been to nurseries where the hostas are potted. I go through Indiana several times a year, I'll look it up.

I wonder how late in the year it would still be worth visiting. Also, that looks like Lakeside Breaking News with the cream edge. Lakeside Breaking Waves is a solid blue.

Thank you so much for sharing! I visited a hosta farm in August for the first time. That was great. I will save this posts because as you said it can be good for ID. If I had come along, I would have spent waaaay too much money and then would have removed all the front yard grass and planted what I bought! I may do that any way! :-)

It is Lowell IN and it is pretty easy to get there.

I was there yesterday and came home with some real beauties. Highly recommend if you in the area, not only because his prices reasonable and variety great. I told Bob he would get much more if he was selling on line. You see real size and how it is growing in shade and you will get whatever chunk you want. Additionally Bob sells his own seedlings and some of them are monsters.

LS Hazy Morn is a gorgeous plant. I got one 2 years ago at Wade and Gatton it has grown quickly. The color is unique in my garden.

Great to revisit this thread after going there. Love seeing your new plants too. I agree, Bob is a great person to talk with. We spent three hours there on our drive home and it went very quickly. Can't wait to go back.

I'll have to remember that. I should be passing that way a couple of times this summer. Is it an appointment only type of place? I passed 2 hosta farms in WI this Friday and both were only open certain weekends!

They do have most weekends open. They live there. Just give them a call when you know your plans, they super nice.
