It's one of the Sphinx moths, also called Hawk moths. Cannot ID it from the picture.....what color is is? The caterpillars may have a horn on their last segment or really cool eye spots.

It's a very large family of moths.

It is a grey and black. I tried cropping the photo so the moth itself would be larger to see more detail. The sun was hitting the underside of it in the first photo.

Thank you for the ID. Yes, it definitely is Modest Sphinx moth. I checked a few sites and matches exactly. Never saw a moth this big before.

Moths like this often hang from branches of shrubs or trees looking very much like a dead leaf. :-)
