Issues with paint on shaker cabinet doors, would you return them?

We are nearly finished with a $60-$70k kitchen renovation with a terrific company. My issue is with their cabinet manufacturer. We chose white shaker cabinets and have already sent back most of the doors for paint issues on the insets seams, mostly crackling and pooling paint and visible unfinished wood. Today we finally got the “fixed” cabinets back and while they fixed the initial issues now there are new ones. It looks like they fixed the issues by separating the insets, leaving even more visible unfinished wood. While it’s not visible from across the room, to me it’s irritatingly visible when I stand at the counter. I’ve included pictures. Am I being too nitpicky or would you send these back again to be fixed.

Not just bad paint but also some splintered wood.

The doors have been sent back once already. Then they insult you with this half-assed attempt to fix. I would ask for the doors to be replaced. If the replacements have issues then I would insist on a whole new set of cabinets from a different source.

I would not want to have any unpainted wood visible or pooling paint. That being said, my cabinets were not 1000% perfect and they had to replace a few things here and there. But my assumption would be that what you are seeing is the quality of the work they are able to put out. When they redo and fix one problem and return things with a new set of issues that’s a dead giveaway that you could be circling around this mountain for quite a while.

Do you have a GC on this job? If so, he should be taking charge of the problem and insisting it be resolved properly. What does your “terrific company” say about it?

On a $70K kitchen renovation, the expectation is FLAWLESS on paint. There is no reason for this. Even a mildly ambitious home enthusiast with a $300 hvlp gun and a few brain cells could do a better spray job than this. For a professional painter or cabinet manufacturer, this is laughable. I'd give them one more chance. After that the cabinets come out and you get a refund, no question.

For comparison, I am currently shopping bottom end cheapo cheap cheap cabinets for my fishing cabin. Here is a shot of the paint line on some Cabinets.com Deerfield cabinet samples, which are not RTA but barely above. They are some of the cheapest pre-assembled cabinets on the market price-wise. That paint line is still better than yours. That should make you mad.

What ended up happening? I’m in the same boat? Pretty sure our GC won’t be doing anything to help us.

One of your pics looks like there is a crack in the cabinet... no good especially for that kind of money spent .
