So here in central Texas, the art of tomato growing is to get the plants in asap, and hope they mature and produce before the bad heat kicks in. Usually we get two months of productivity. Plant out in late February, and start harvest in May. The heat sets in in June, preventing pollination, and as of the first of July, there are no more fruits to harvest. This year, we had an unusually cool spring before the blast furnace turned on, and we got five weeks of ripe tomatoes. Gee, do you all do better in Alaska?
