Can you post a picture?

This is a plant that is very tolerant of dry conditions....actually prefers that. Floppiness may be attributed to too rich a soil and/or too much water. I would stake or cage them temporarily rather than cut back.

btw, while this cultivar is considered a dwarf or compact variety, it can still grow to 36" and the weight of the flowerheads can pull the stems down.

you might find more peeps with direct experience.. in the perennial forum ... though it appears with this question .. .that gal basically nailed it ... without a pic ...

back in the day.;. when i did not have a WWW .. but i had 3 plants ... i would have left one alone.. tied one up ... and cut one back ... and just observed how it all worked out ...

and when i had one plant.. i did all 3 things on one plant ... i still remember all my experiments .. and nothing i read in a book.. . lol ... [unless i read something and then went opoutside and went all Dr. Frankenstein on the plant afterwards ... ]
