It should be Diatomite listed for use in soil. Not sure which brands of Floor Dry use other ingredients.

Any fired clay product must NOT break down into a slimy, mess, when used in a gritty mix. But how can you know without buying a sample? Ask if they have a ripped bag, and get a few ounces and wet it with water, and see what happens.

It needs to look and act like the small chips of a crushed, red-clay flower pot. No deodorizers, no chemicals, etc. Some cheap kitty-litter might be suitable...if it's not deodorized, perfumed..... or treated to clump, etc.

Turface-MVP is best if you can find and buy it.

Get a sample and freeze it after you add a little water. Thaw it out and see if it goes mush. If it goes south, it's not the right stuff.

Napa part no. 8822 is the bag.

I mix it 1:1 with no. 2 chicken grit (cherrystone) found in farm supply stores. And maybe a tiny, tiny, tiny handful of miracle grow...
