You can certainly fit a table and chairs or opt for a shallow bench under the window. The biggest challenge is being able to pull out both the bar stools and kitchen chairs at the same time though it is manageable.

How about an easy chair and bookshelves with a plant or two on top? A reading nook. Course fixture would have to change. Or a small desk with the one chair you have there. You can put a small table with two chairs if you want to....that would work.

I would like a small table and chairs or maybe a window seat??? I hadn't thought about how close it would be to to counter. Maybe I should get stools w/o backs.
What kind of window treatments would you suggest. I was thinking maybe roman shades. The shades are temporary cellular versions.

With a banquette you could seat 6!! DH built a tressel table and benches-2 it was AMAZING the room we had. You already have a breakfast bar in that space. Do you really want both?? Seems redundant that close together...

If youe light fixture is 60-ish inches from the floor... it isn't too low. Previous HO's must have had a table beneath.

What's the distance between peninsula and window?

I think you could do something really nice without adding any chairs - just a banquette and table, or upholstered bench (not these configurations of course, but to fit your space):

Thank you for all of the feedback! I think I will look into a small seating area either two small chairs and side table or a window seat as you guys suggested. We don't necessarily need it as extra eating space anyway bc we have the breakfast bar and dining room and we are a small family. It's just an awkward space.

This is a situation that without a plan and elevations it's all pie in the sky. You have french doors that open and i have no idea as to layout or flow on the other side of the french doors or the kitchen layout where you are shooting images from. From what I see you have may have a problem with the doors unless you offer more information. Also window treatments relate to each room to room to create a whole. You have the option of mounting RS in the window or above as an eye brow. The decision is based on the windows throughout the house. If you do something different in each room you will not have a well considered overall design.

On the other side of the French doors leads to the back porch. On the other side of the counter is the kitchen.
