This item is described as being almost 14-inches wide. That is extremely small. Is this an error or a true dimension?

Yes, you are absolutely right, it looks like we have mixed up the depth and the width. Here you have the right dimensions:

H: 18.9" W: 18.9" D: 13.8"

18.9 inches seems very short for a nightstand. Is that accurate?
