Thanks - I need to try and root Le Vesuve soon, and I have not had great success with it in the past. I will try that.

Gagal told me but I have not tried yet. I am having same issues as Perma. I think it is too hot here but I told Gagal I will try but towards end of the year when it is cooler months.

I'm not sure on exactly how many Jin, I haven't separated them yet.

On the method I used the pine bark fines or soil conditioner, either by its self or mixed with miracle grow. The miracle grow mix, was my first and second batch, so I know that's worked, and all that I've done with just the fines are looking great. But they were done later, so no roots yet. I did the hartwood method with that mixture. Easy peasy lemon squeezey, or so my daughter says. Lol. Nothing hard. I also used root tone. Since I used hartwood method, I can see my roots in the milk jug ;)

ALANA I knew it would work for you!! Congrats!! The bark changed everything for me! I think we gardners have a tendency to "piddle" with things too much...then we over water or whatever..I am the worst. lol

Gagal, I have to do that style. But I don't have any cuttings yet.

I am hoping this style and method will work for me in FL and I think it will. I have to try still :)

So all pine bark fine or do add a little soil ?

I did one alittle over half with miracle grow. More pine bark. And then I did a plain pine bark one, and waiting on results of that one. I think gal gal said she did both

I've done both just because of what I had on hand. Jin, it will work great for you! I had mine sitting along a chain link fence when we got all that hurricane rain last year. Drained perfect! I usually mix mine half and half or you can mix like you want. You can do all bark and mix in a handful of potting soil. I think the soil helps keep the cutting in place, firms it up. The bark fines alone are loose, but both work. I over think EVERYTHING so this is perfect for me.

I thought that is what you said but when I saw the pics it looks mix that is why I was going hmmm..must be both. But good to know. I think I might just cut a branch and test it. If it grows, great then I can give away.
