Hi -- My husband and I are at the tail end of renovating our condo. When we purchased it, the owner wanted to keep the light fixture in the hallway. We weren't too impressed with it, so we agreed that they could take it with them. They left us with a crazy mess. I purchased a semi-flush light fixture, however, we aren't sure if we can even use it. Did this used to be a recessed light of some sort? Your expertise is appreciated. Also, we will be hiring a licensed electrician. We were just curious and wanted to appear somewhat intelligent when we contact our electrician. :)
