Need help with gas blower

Hoping this is OK for this forum, wasn't sure where to put it. I have a Husqvarna gas powered blower. It's a few years old but in good shape. If I close the choke and pump the primer bulb a few times, it'll crank right up on the first or second pull. It'll run strong for about 3-5 seconds and then suddenly shut off. No stuttering or slowing down, just off. Then it won't re-start no matter what I do until I wait about 10 minutes, then it'll do the same thing again. I've removed, disassembled and cleaned the carburetor, checked the plug, etc. but no luck. It did this earlier this year, but after tinkering with it for a while, it started running properly. Not sure what I did to get it to run right then. Any ideas?

the way you describe it, it sounds like a spark issue. the next time it's being uncooperative check to see if you have spark. maybe replace the spark plug, just because it looks right doesn't mean it's good. spark tester is a good tool to have around.

Could be a plug issue , however with the no start until 10 minute cool down , more likely coil ! Try a new plug to ensure not faulty plug as 300' advised .

Go to eBay and get a new carb for it. 10 or 20 bucks. Put new fuel lines and filter on it as well. You will spend hours trying to rebuild the old one. Even for someone who has rebuilt a lot of them, the success rate is next to none. Very rare for the plug and coil to go bad but it does happen occasionally and usually wont start at all. One way to find out - pour a little gas in the carb and see. If it starts and dies - its the carburetor.

Now sometimes the screen on the exhaust will clog restricting and blocking flow through the engine. Beings that its 2 years old its not to likely but easy to check. Lots of You tube videos on the subject.

Could be Fouled filter , , Efuel clogged carb or weak coil ( usually after 3 - 5 minutes not seconds ) 2 yr old Husky Blower should not have a bad plug or coil issues . If you have not inspected the filter or cleaned the carb , then go there 1st . Ensure gas filter is clean then buy some concentrated fuel cleaner , add 2 ounces to fresh fuel and run the blower with choke and primer . It will eventually clean itself to the point where u can adjust the jets for a final resolution . In the future always add Startron or Seafoam to your fuel prior to last use of the yr , prior to storage .

Thanks for the replies! I feel stupid now but I got it figured out. Upon reading the comments here, I felt sure it was a spark issue. I tried my spark tester but it was bright outside and couldn't tell if it was sparking or not. I tried a jumper wire connected to the plug wire and try to see the spark at the top of the plug (leaving a small gap there). Well it tried to start even when it wouldn't start with the plug wire plugged onto the plug. I thought surely it's not the spark plug but went and swapped a similar plug out of my string trimmer and it cranked. So, $3 new spark plug later and we're back in business.
