Jenn-Air Appliances

Hi everyone,

We're remodeling our kitchen and when we went to Yale Appliance and told them what we needed (a 30" wall oven/microwave combination, a 36" cooktop with 5 burners and a bridge element, and a dishwasher), he suggested that we go with a Jenn-Air package (with the induction cooktop rather than an electric cooktop - we don't have gas at our house). The appliances seemed really nice and we liked the functionality but the few reviews we were able to find online were horrid or very outdated. Does anyone have any experience with these Jenn-Air appliances and have positive things to say? It's so difficult to make a decision on these appliances!

Thanks!

I have the Jenn-Air dishwasher and so far I like it. Jenn-Air is a division of Whirlpool, which in my opinion has always been a great product, had Whirlpool products for 20 years and loved them.

I got the Jenn-Air package (before finding Garden Web so I didn't know what I didn't know, and was taken in by the rebate.) I was never thrilled with the DW and replaced it with a Bosch (but I did keep it for about 7 years.) It didn't break down, just didn't clean all that well. Like my Bosch 500 better.

OK but not thrilled with my JA fridge - it has some unevenly cold spots that freeze lettuce if I'm not careful. But the layout is fine and other than the cold spots it's fine.

JA convection oven (electric) - like. JA warming drawer - like (and use it often.) I have different brands for my gas cooktop and drawer MW.

we just got the Jenn Air 36' induction stove which we like, 4 drawer fridge which is good, and the 30" single wall oven which is irritating. The temperature runs low, drawer sticks, and 2 months in the touch screen is frozen. I regret that (and the kitchenaid dishwasher)

Sonyala: Am researching to buy kitchen appliances. What do you dislike about your KA dishwasher?

It is just so frustrating. The drying unit is exposed, so any bit of food or plastic that drops on it burns (like fruit and vege stickers). It does a worse job cleaning than our old Bosch, so I am wiping the dishes down before putting them in to wash. A waste of my time and money.

I wasn't impressed with my Jenn Air range some years ago. We were taken in by all the hype, but it wasn't any better than other appliance brands we've had over the years.
