Return to the ending

A picture hiatus because I was awaiting a new camera. Also, bloom quality is deteriorating with dryness and the malaise created by a bad winter and spring. Some cultivars, though, have been very good. Most, not.

    Evermore Greatful. --Good grower

Change of Heart is better than last year, when color was dull.
Mean Green is as good as ever.

Victorian Lace at 2 p.m.--I always say that it should have won the Stout rather than JT Davis
Sight for More Eyes --huge bloom
    Lovestruck Linda
White Eyes Pink Dragon at 2 p.m. on a sunny day
Orchid Elegance on a warm afternoon. Has never been better. Seemed to just shoot out this year.
    Nosferatu
Bees enjoying Kingdom Without End at 2 p.m.

Wonderful post, you have some really beautiful flowers. Spinal Tap looks wonderful, I have been really enjoying mine. I got 3 reds that year, I have enjoyed all 3 but ST is the tallest and just makes itself noticed more. You have several I really like, I am stuck on purples/pinks with watermarks, I have some but i seem to want every one I see. Love Sultry Girls, Kingdom Without End, White Eyes Pink Dragon, Lovrstruck Linda. Orchids Elegance is rather different, I always like different. Everyone who has Mean Green seems to love it.

Mary’s Baby looks wonderful, how long has it been your garden? I Added Mary’s Babythis past fall. Victorian Lace looks great. I’m guessing from your comment it does great in the heat. Everyone seems to like Mean Green, not my first color choice but it’s seems to be a great performer for most.

I agree on J.T. Davis. It never performed well for me. It is now compost for daylilies that do well.

Mary's Baby is an outstanding performer for me.

Well I had a lot of favorites until I saw that clump of Mary's Baby, and it just blows all the others out of the water. Spectacular! I can see I need to add that one, even though the bloom size is smaller than I like. Kingdom Without End is my second favorite. Evermore Greatful looks like a good performer for you, and White Eyes Pink Dragon seems to hold up well in the heat.

The clump of Mary's Baby in the estate garden is three years old. I put in a double division, and it is irrigated. As a side note, Nancy got Spinal Tap from me in a trade; it has grown well for both of us.

Mary's Baby is such a good daylily it seems for everyone. Maybe a Stout Medal some day? Great picture. I like Spinal Tap too. My favorite though is Evermore Grateful. Really stands out.............Maryl

As always, a bountiful feast for the eyes. I know what you mean about the dry conditions causing deterioration of blooms. That's why I'm trying to photograph as much as I can now before it becomes unsightly out there. My favorites of these are Sight for More Eyes, Lovestruck Linda and of course, the Mary's Baby clump.

Beautiful blooms! Another vote for Mary’s Baby, fantastic clump. Others that catch my eye include Victorian Lace, Sight For More Eyes, Jan Zoo, and White Eyes Pink Dragon.

You make it hard to choose, but I'll go with Lovestruck Linda. And add Mary's baby - I remember seeing photos of it before and it made quite an impression.

Curiousity question .........has anyone who is not a member of the AHS ever won an award for their registered daylily ?
