Are we choosing between all of these products? Where will the tile be placed?

You need to be a little more specific. I assume you're showing your floors and a sample of countertop. Are these four different tiles you're considering for a kitchen floor? If so, it would be helpful to see the rest of the kitchen, especially cabinets.

Pictures of the room would be helpful.

Here are some more details. Tile will go in the kitchen area and have to work with the wood floor that’s also in the picture. Format is 30x30” This will be in an open space house in Texas. Walls will be off white. The space is some 1700sqft not counting the bedrooms that will also have the wood floor.

Cpaul1: ok, what would you suggest instead if I want to be more on trend in this Texas home. We’re originally from Europe and struggle with what is on trend here at the moment (small tile, wood look tile, vinyl floors or dark stained hand scraped wood floors, all paired with Greige, beige or tan walls.)

Torreykm good point, however the home is a big mess after Harvey and we don’t have the walls up yet. But it’s for an open plan kitchen, living as well as dining and entry.

Groveraxel yes you’re right. Here’s a picture of the cabinets. We will do a big island and horizontal wall cabinets. Island and lower cabinets will be walnut and the horizontal will be off white. (That wall will most likely be painted a
    charcoal gray)

what are we choosing from? the black, the light gray, and the large, medium gray?

just for the kitchen? what color are the cabinets in the kitchen? what's the style of the kitchen? the rest of the house? what kind of light do you get?

I like the black tiles if you're doing glossy modern type of cabinets, or even walnut cabinets.

here are some other tile choices that aren't quite so 'cement' or modern looking.

this is a porcelain tile that is a bit warmer and will blend well w/your wood.

this is a Terrazzo look type of porcelain. comes in 24x24 and 12x24

    basalt tiles

and I like these hex tiles in the kitchen when they're floated in w/the wood flooring

The dark grey tile that is closest to the viewer in the picture would be my choice of these options. Black floors, light floors, and solid color floors show every speck of dust. You're best off with a midtone that has some pattern, and as it happens, the only tile that fits that description (the dark grey) melds pretty seamlessly with the wood floor you already chose. It doesn't match, per se, but your eye would skim over a transition from the wood to the tile flooring without stumbling.

Jennifer, I agree with Jillius. The large gray tile that looks like concrete looks good and will probably be easiest to maintain.

Thank you for these suggestions! My husband loved the gray one, and I favored the darker gray that leans more towards black but as you say we’d need to sweep and clean that one more often. I poured some cereal on all the tiles and walk on it. Lol. We have three kids so that was my ultimate test.. :).

thank you all again, we took a new turn after your feedback and now lean againta choising this cut hex tile in a light matte color. What do you think. It would go in the kitchen area (pictures of cabinets above) and the wood floor would be in the rest of the house. Its Opel plan so these florors would meet. I’ve attached a photo of it installed as it comes off very gray looking from my iPhone camera.

A penny for your thoughts on this floor tile and ideas what countertop to use? Not sure of the marble quartz with it..

And here is the backsplash we’re thinking about. They are 1”. I kind of want to to melt together and just provide that little bit of texture, so I’ll use a matching grout if we go with this one.
