Neglected Breakfast Nook

I have a neglected breakfast nook that I would like to make more appealing. I’m thinking new table, chairs, and a rug but what do I know?!? These are some tables and chairs I’ve been looking at ( https://www.ashleyfurniture.com/p/coverty-dining-room-table/D605-15.html?cgid=dining-tables#prefn1=tableShape&sz=22&prefv1=Round&start=5 Is one)The kitchen will be remodeled within the next year with white cabinets, granite, and probably white subway tile so I’m not sure a white table is the best idea. We lean towards more industrial pieces. I need all the help I can get. Please ignore the mess.

Wait until the remodel is done before spending on furniture that might not fit the new desgn

Metal chairs are really cold on your butt.

for quick fixes, yes a round rug to anchor the table, but wait for different furniture until the kitchen is completed. If a new dining ensemble is in the plan, paint your existing one? (and reupholster the chair seats.) I would also find some fun fabric for the interior of the cabinet doors, something with a touch as the same red of the pepsi sign. The space is to small for all the visual chatter of the clear glass. Not to offend- but the marionette is kinda creepy, maybe in a seated position?

another vote for waiting til the remodel is complete. sometimes despite ones best efforts or intentions, design can veer off course and you end up with a kitchen you love but its not necessarily the one you have in mind at the beginning. second, its something that you'll need to be careful of during renovation... save the new table for later.

i'm good with ignoring mess.... but i think you might like your storage cabinet more if you put a reeded glass type film (or change the glass to reeded)... it goes good with industrial and will make your stored items less of a distraction.

I also suggest you wait. Fortunately you should be able to purchase those items at a later date. Also fyi, the light should be lowered closer to the table. Standard is for the bottom of the light to be 30-34" above the table. Good luck!

Thanks to everybody for the advice! Y'all make a valid point about waiting especially since the kitchen design plans are not set in stone yet. Kay Kin- no offense taken. My husband bought the marionette in Prague to creep me out. It won't be staying there. Ninigret- I'll be looking into your reeded glass idea as I've never been of fan of seeing the mess hidden in my cabinets. M&M Interiors- Thank you for the light measurement. Its raised up to stay out of the way for now. We were going to center and lower it once we decided on a table.
