What a pretty hosta

Ken! THAT is perfection!!! Wow! Apparently many people try to achieve that colour and aren't able...myself included. I daren't move it - and I don't have an ideal location.

Just took a pic now because the rain stopped...too bad...not enough of a soak. This area gets sun until around 2-2:30. Would you believe the only hosta displaying sunburn streaks is Lakeside Cupcake? Imagine that... LC has such thick leaves...go figure! The rest are great.

On Stage is beautiful! I love all of the ones here! And Jo, yours is doing great. I love the color arrangement in your garden bed. The colors really pop! Your hostas look so happy! And that means there's a happy gardener living there!

I love seeing all these different photos of the same plants, because the colors can vary so much----of course making them soooo much harder for me to ID. All of the pictures are stunning!

Back in 2013 when I joined this forum the thing I remember most was: "my hostas don't look like that! are they supposed to be that green colour and not gold?" - that mine were usually lighter in colour due to more sun exposure in my garden. It was very enlightening during my first Alphabet to see all the variations in the same plants. Djacob, I understand... I usually don't have much trouble identifying hostas that I happen to have as well, but it makes it a bit difficult sometimes when some of mine are off colour from the norm.

Location makes a big difference! I remember a picture of a hosta that was half in shade /half in sun and there was a big difference between the two halves. Could even have been here on the forum...Sometimes I change the location of a few hostas (easy with pots) for a season and see what happens :-) We call it Hosta chess...

Just took this picture of an Invincible leaf. The leaf is folded a little like a v and the sun comes from the right side. The left half is more yellow than the right one :-)

We had a few very short showers but if you dig the soil is bone dry after 2 cm. Forecast is up t0 34°C for the next days :-( I'm very thankful that my well is still running!
