I'd do white, so the comforter is the star. Focus on calm furniture and accessories.

The woodwork and doors are white - would I use the same shade of white or should it be a different tone?

Donna - That, I can't answer. Maybe others will have definite ideas. You'll need to determine what will work best in your own room, given your specific lighting and all, and that can be a bit of a process -- but worth it, when you hit upon the right shade. Good luck! I like that comforter you've selected too. (My own bedroom started out in sea glass shades. I've since incorporated some artwork that's taken it in a slightly different direction, but I'm still very drawn to those soft, dreamy hues.)

I like white, too. I think a gray or other pastel could turn the whole thing dreary.

Donna - Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray might be a good place to start looking, since you love gray. It has a warm undertone, and everywhere I've seen it used it was quite pretty.

My bedroom has your colors. White for the walls is the way to go. Either bring a chip from your door and get the white that matches or pick an original white and paint both doors and walls. Then you can find accessories that will incorporate both aqua and grey. I added turquoise and texture into my room along with really big artwork that also has aqua, mint green, black and white. I found a screen in grey on clearance at Wafare for $25 and free shipping. It's both pretty and practical and functions as my window/French door covering.

I did a very off white from SW called Fleur de sel. Slight blue undertones. Add aqua/torquoise accessories. Perfect comforter for a bedroom

Lattice is gorgeous -- good suggestion. I also like Silver Strand, which looks slightly greener on my monitor.

It's unfortunate that my husband dislikes the comforter I posted yesterday. I think this is what we will go with:

I'd go with pale yellow walls. Blue, white, and yellow. cheery.

I've mentioned this so many times here, but will say again that gray is definitely on its way out, and warmer tones are in. If you don't want a stark white on your walls by all means pick one that is slightly warm in tone. Not everything has to match, and different tones of white in a room are actually more interesting.

Try the Lattice with your new comforter, too. I have it in many of my rooms and it is a lovely, calming neutral. Looks very nice with any shade of blue.
