I love Brassavolas! They're one of my favorite orchids. I just bought a Brassavola nodosa 'Susan Fuchs' this past spring and mounted it. It's a much larger cultivar, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing (and smelling) it finally bloom for me. I think I check up on it every single day. Well, okay, I do check up on it every single day, HaHa. It's been growing like a weed for me in this hot and humid weather. The only care it gets from me is a blast from a garden hose. Every now and then, I'll dilute some orchid fertilizer and just dump it over the whole mount. Brassavolas are so easy to care for and reward us with gorgeous blooms with an awesome, nighttime fragrance. Everybody should have at least one of them in their collection.

This is brassavola little stars. A very prolific primary cross. The joke among my orchid growing friends is if you can't grow brassavolas here, get another hobby. This part of Florida is an exceptional culture for them. I believe in time if the humans did not show up for another million years the brasavolas would have naturalized here. There are species geographically close already.

Photo Synthisis where are you? I also have Susan Fuchs. Easy grower for us here... My orchids get rain or watered daily. Potted orchids in lava rock and clay pots. Full dose fertilizer every 2 weeks...
