Thanks! Any full bush pictures?

Based on Dainty Bess doing well in the shade I may move a Love Song we just put in because I saw a flower at High Country Roses and it was really poor looking. It may need more sun and if Dainty Bess wants less it might be a good spot for her. How big did Dainty Bess get for you?

I second everything oldrosarian said. I lost my dainty bess in the garden, but loved her so much, I must buy another to keep in a pot.

Dainty Bess grows to about 3 feet and makes a fat bush. Golden wings is a more tall and leaner bush.

Well, my Dainty Bess is about 7 feet and has a tall, upright habit. Is this the same rose we're talking about? By the way, mmmm12, you should check out Morden Sunrise. Diane

I love my Golden Wings. She's in full sun, loves the dry heat. Strongest blooms in spring and fall, but does stay blooming all year. I keep her about 4' in diameter/height - feels like she could spread more if allowed. And does have a light fragrance. I've never been much of a 'single' bloom fan, but as soon as I saw her at a nursery, I grabbed her on whim, and have been delighted ever since.

Nanadoll, thanks for the suggestion of Morden Sunrise. That is a very pretty rose but I liked how the Golden Wings bleached to white and has such enormous blooms. :-)

Based on the great input here we bought them both. They are hardening off under our tree. They are both slated for our hot rock bed rose garden. Input here makes me feel that Golden Wings will thrive there. Not sure on Dainty Bess. She will look great if she doesn't get fried by the sun because there will be raspberries as a green backdrop and nothing around her to swallow her up.

I love both of them.

Dainty Bess just popped out two blooms with a third on the way. I think the blooms close up at night but I have to observe more to be sure. Very pleased with how pretty the flowers are on a plant that just went in the ground a couple of (maybe 3) weeks ago.

Golden Wings so far has none but her foliage is starting to look better. She looked anemic when I bought her.

Such enablers. I have now added Dainty Bess to the lot.

Dainty Bess was on my original list last year as a favorite. But it was out of stock I think. Otherwise I can't imagine why I didn't get it. I got this one at High Country Roses and it is very healthy. This is only my second year of roses so I am having fun trying different types.

The Ellen Willmot is gorgeous! Not sure how she would do in my zone as she isn't carried by High Country Roses. I tend to shop there because they are right in town and can give feedback on what does well in Denver.

Im in zone 5b and my Golden Wings grows to about 6 feet tall and spreads to about 8 feet wide in less than full sun. It will blackspot if I don't spray. Repeat is pretty good, fragrance is weak.
