This is probably what you need.

I might try the fertilizer thing. I usually put a tab down the pvc pipe, while it's pushed into the lily mud, then I put a slightly longer bamboo stick down into it and push it deeper into the mud. I have to use the size of pvc pipe that will accommodate the size of the tab though. For my lotus bog, I use citrus spikes......which requires a much bigger tube.
