The rounded doors would look very out of place. It's great to love them on their own - just not on your house.

Ditto above - the rounded windows don't fit the style of your home. But your home will be lovely with the rectangular doors!

I would do a single square edge door.

Comment on design - I think it looks odd to have vertical siding on the first floor and brick?/shingles on the second floor. The façade is very busy.

Single rectangular door maybe 3'-6" wide with (2) sidelites. Nothing to be gained in my opinion by a double door expect possible water infiltration.

I'm with millworkman. A single large rectangular door with sidelights.

If you will start a new thread and post your elevations and floor plans, you will get plenty of feedback. Be sure to describe your building site, general location, which direction the house will face etc. Just be prepared ...

I agree with the square doors. I also agree that the two materials look a bit busy. IMO, I would use all vertical siding and raise the height of the porch roof so it is level with the roof line on the right. As it is, your windows and doors look a bit squished under the porch because of the heavy roof and height of the second story.

Why is there a dormer over the garage? And why is it coming to the edge of the roof line?

Why is the dormer over the front center wider than the second floor bump out and 2 larger windows than in the second floor bump out?

Why are there 3 ganged windows in the garage and dormer but nowhere else?

Why is there a 2 ganged window in the garage dormer?

To answer your question, yes an arched door will look very much out of place.

Your first photo is a pair of very 'French' entry doors. I'm not sure what style you are going for with the house itself. The dormers are oversized. Is that board and batten? Is that shingle on the second floor?

No to an archtop door or doors.

The primary portion of your house is a classic 5-bay house. That's good.

The double windows in the center section of the second floor confuse the 5-bays. That's bad.

The double doors on the first floor confuse the 5-bays on the first floor. That's bad.

No one uses double doors for an entry, except at move-in and move-out. For the rest of life one leaf is always closed.

My recommendation is change the second floor double windows to a matching single window, and change the entry doors to a single door. A transom panel with two lights above the door would be a nice touch.

Here's a classic colonial 5-bay house which is timeless. Compare it to your "trendy" design:

Both leafs must meet the minimum door width for egress and the right hardware is expensive. Other than that I know nothing about double doors.

I think a large rectangular door with sidelights & transom would look great with your overall design. I would stay away from a double entry front door, as one of the doors won't get much use. Good luck, I'm sure it will be amazing!

Seeing the rendering makes me think i was nuts to pick rounded door! Side lights and transom with a large single door will be perfect here! Gorgeous house!
