I think a silver orb light could break it up, add visual interest and bring in that contemporary vibe you were mentioning. I definitely think something round, since there are a lot of squares/rectangles in the table, windows, cabinets, etc. Looks gorgeous already though!

I don't have any go-tos for lighting, I usually just search and search until I've found "the one". Shades of Light, West Elm, World Market... you never know where you'll find it! Good luck!

I've had good luck ordering fixtures online from Lamps Plus.

I’ve done well with lightingdirect.com, associated with build.com. Some nice filters will help you sort through options. But I also learned not to dismiss local, independently-owned lighting stores. I was having trouble selecting a dining room chandelier until I walked into a store and found the one. They knew it wasn’t within the budget but said “let’s see how close can come. They came down $300, close enough to justify a splurge. I checked on-line out of curiosity, and everywhere was higher.
