Plumeria Watering tips

I read online that when rooting plumerias, never them more than once every 7 days. Here in Texas with temps hitting 108 and low humidity, I find in two days that there is almost no moisture, even in the bottoms of the pots. They may also be drying out fast because I'm using Terra cotta pots. I also let my cuts callus over for a week. Should I water it more often?
