We are moving in a couple weeks. The kitchen layout of our new home is great but I can't help thinking its way too warm for my tastes. Between the wood floors, maple cabinets and beige granite.... We don't have the budget to do a reno. We are thinking of replacing all the appliances with stainless steel.

Would painting the kitchen a cooler color, thinking gray or a cool taupe, be odd?
