I cut some large white Oriental lilies and brought them in the house -- the fragrance was so strong I had to toss them. DH complained big-time (he doesn't like lilies), but even I thought they were stinking up the whole house, and the scent of Oriental lilies is one of my favorite scents! Seriously -- I had them in the kitchen window, and I could smell them in another part of the house way down the hall in the bathroom! So I've just been sticking my nose in the ones left outside instead LOL! I have no idea what the cultivar is, but they're large, pure white, and simply gorgeous.

Probably 'Casa Blanca', which is the classic white flowered oriental. This is probably my favorite lily but I also find it far too strongly scented to pick for indoors.....it gives me a headache!! In fact, I can't tolerate any oriental lily indoors. But I do love them in the garden!!

^^ So this isn't a weird one-off situation, then. I have the dwarf "Mona Lisa", and I very much enjoy her in the vase - so must be that particular white cultivar.
