Thank you for your question. The flooring is an engineered version to match the main level as this is over a concrete slab. It's a reclaimed heart wood pine from old tobacco drying plants... so they black or dark areas are from the tobacco. It was sourced from a company called Reclaimed Designworks and installed by a local flooring company. Hope that helps. Thanks
