What's going on with my ferns??

It's hard to tell from the photo, but all of my ferns are turning brown and shriveling up. I've now doubled the amount of watering time they're getting and hope that helps. But I thought I'd ask the forum in case there's something else that could be afflicting them. Thanks so much!

probably the lack of water ... second photo sure doesnt look bad ...

but the new water.. isnt going to 'fix' the previous damage ... if its bugging you ... then cut out the worst of the worst... and it should all look better ...

My ferns always look like that in summer. They'll come back just fine next spring.

Thanks Ken. I'm gonna go ahead and trim them. I wish it had been more clear in the second photo, gracie01, that the leaves are SHRIVELING and dying. Crossing my fingers that the process will stop with more water! Thank you both.

Some of mine almost disappear every summer; they still come back fine next spring.
