Lois, you inspired me!

By noon today I did three loads of laundry, read the last 60 pages of a novel, and loaded a baby quilt on the frame and quilted it! After lunch I sewed the binding on it and finished reorganizing my sewing room. :)

I’m hoping to hand sew the binding this evening, but I pinched my finger really hard in the closet door and it still hurts a lot two hours later. Wah!

Donna, I am so sorry about your hand! Ice, rest, ibuprofen.

I started the day working on staining our fence. I am on the side that has wire to keep the dog in, so it is all by brush. UGGHHH! Our son called and wanted to stop over with our granddaughter, so I quickly abandoned the staining and grabbed a shower so I could play with Charlotte! We had tons of errands after they left, and got home after 3. I started working on "fixing" some blocks that are the start to a wedding quilt for November. I started this a couple years back at one of the retreats and just couldn't get going on it, but now that it has a home, I hope to make good progress! After dinner, I will be back to the machine.

Donna, I hope your finger is better by now! I had a sewing day with my DD. She came over after lunch and worked on a mug rug for the guild exchange in August. I loaded a small baby quilt and quilted it while she was here. I put the binding on it after dinner and have it ready to hand stitch down this evening, DS and wife are expecting a baby girl in November, so I made her first quilt. I had four blocks left over that will be a doll quilt.

I’ve gotten halfway around on the binding. It’s slow going with a band aid on the index fingertip of my dominant hand, so I think I’ll call it a night. I should be able to finish it in the morning.

Sorry, Donna. Glad you didn't break the skin.

It's been a cool, wet weekend, so I locked myself in the sewing room. Sandwiched 2 baby quilts and pieced a third. Woohoo!

Wow! You ladies are really in a quilting groove! I didn't make it into the sewing room once this weekend. Family priorities prevailed. With all the rain in the forecast this week, I plan to get errands run this morning, and set about finishing the binding on the Baby James quilt, as well as finish the blocks for the quilt I'm creating for my niece's 1st baby. Donna, hope your finger is feeling much better today. Happy & healthy quilting, y'all!

Thanks, everyone! I have an ugly blood blister, but the finger is much better. Still a little sore.

I finished hand-sewing the binding on the little quilt yesterday morning.
