my mother gave me a potted hydrangea that she felt she wasn’t caring for properly. Some of the leaves on top were spotted and the blooms were Dead. I deadhead the flowers but now It seems the tips of the stem where I cut are now turning brown while new growth is covering the rest of the stem. Do I need to trim the tips of the stems until new leaves grow at the tops or trim All the way to the old wood?
